Our picks for the best online cybersecurity degrees in Indiana are four fully online programs based in the state: three bachelor's programs and one master's, from two schools. Purdue Global in West Lafayette runs three of them, and Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne runs the fourth.

Online tuition is the same for every student, so Indiana residents pay no in-state discount at Purdue Global. The real choice is pace and price.

Studying Cybersecurity Online in Indiana

Indiana's list is short, so it helps to know why. Both schools here serve working adults who want a degree they can finish from home, and neither one offers a separate in-state rate for online students. Purdue Global lists $371 per credit for its bachelor's and $420 per credit for its master's, and those prices are the same for everyone who enrolls.

The four programs also cover different needs. Two Purdue Global bachelor's tracks differ mainly in how you pay and how fast you move. Indiana Tech is the smaller, more local option with named Indiana employers behind its internships. The master's is a management degree, so it suits people who already work in IT or security.

How We Chose These Programs

We start with every online cybersecurity, information assurance and digital forensics degree we could verify on a school page, then keep the ones based in Indiana. Price, credits, format, concentrations and credentials come from each school's own program pages, checked in October 2026. Programs are ordered by our published scoring. You can read the full method on the methodology page.

Compare Purdue Global's Two Bachelor's Tracks Before You Enroll

Purdue Global offers two bachelor's routes into the same field, and they work very differently. The standard Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity bills $371 per credit across 180 quarter credits, which is $66,780 in tuition and about four years on average. Because those are quarter credits, the semester equivalent is $556.50 per credit, not $371.

The ExcelTrack version charges a flat $2,500 per term and measures you on demonstrated skill, not seat time. You take assessments to show what you already know, then move past those topics. A fast learner with IT experience can pay far less than the sticker price of the standard track. A slower pace costs more, because every additional term is another $2,500.

The standard track adds concentrations, including CISSP certification preparation, data management and software development using Python. CISSP stands for Certified Information Systems Security Professional. ExcelTrack lists no concentrations and ends with a 6-credit capstone course, so choose it for speed and the standard track for a specialty. Both accept credit for prior coursework, certifications, work and life experience, and military training.

See What Indiana Tech Offers That Purdue Global Does Not

Indiana Tech's online Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity is 120 to 121 credit hours, and the school is designated a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) by the NSA and DHS. Its department has added a security operations center, a digital forensics lab and an interactive data center.

The local angle is the strongest part. Students in this degree have interned with Do it Best, Corp., Ash Brokerage, Parkview Health, Franklin Electric, Ruoff Mortgage, Bosch and Brotherhood Mutual. If you plan to stay in northeast Indiana, those are employers you can name in an interview.

Two things to confirm before you apply. Ask whether online students can use the labs or only on-campus students can, and ask for a written tuition estimate before you apply. A smaller school can mean more personal attention, but you should hear it from an advisor, not assume it.

Think About the Master's Only If You Have a Bachelor's and Some Work Experience

Indiana has one online master's, the Purdue Global Master of Science in Cybersecurity Management. It requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. It is 60 quarter credits at $420 per credit, which comes to $25,200 and is about 2 years on average, at roughly 15 hours of coursework a week.

It leans toward managing security more than hands-on defense. Courses include Ethical Hacking and Network Defense, Wireless, Mobile, and Cloud Security, Platforms, Applications, and Data Security, and Computer Forensics and Investigations. You also pick one of four concentrations: artificial intelligence, AWS cloud technologies, data analytics or project management.

The program lists learning labs that simulate on-the-job situations, and it carries the same CAE-CD designation as the bachelor's. Servicemembers get 17 to 30 percent off per credit and veterans get 14 percent. There is no thesis listed, so plan on applied coursework. If you want a wider choice of schools, compare it with the national list of online master's programs.

Look Beyond Indiana If You Want More Choice

With four programs, Indiana residents often need to widen the search. Online degrees do not require you to live where the school is, and a program from another state may fit your pace, budget or specialty better.

The median bachelor's across all 80 programs we track is $426 per credit and $54,780 in total tuition. Purdue Global's $66,780 total is higher than that median, while the ExcelTrack flat rate can land lower depending on how fast you move. The national master's median is $25,488 in total tuition, so Purdue Global's $25,200 sits right at the middle.
