Studying Cybersecurity Online in Florida
Florida's online cybersecurity options split cleanly between one public college and five private schools. St. Petersburg College is the only public school on this list, and it is the only one that sets a separate Florida resident rate.
The private schools, Saint Leo, Rasmussen, Keiser, Florida Tech and Embry-Riddle, charge one price whether you live in Tampa or Texas. That makes residency the first question to answer. The programs also reach well past Florida's borders, so a resident can compare them with national options on our best online cybersecurity degrees list.

How We Chose These Programs
A program appears here when the school is based in Florida and the degree is delivered fully online, with the school's own pages confirming it. We read each program's price, length, courses and admissions from those pages and from federal college data.
Florida has 10 qualifying programs, so every one is included. Within each degree level, the order comes from our shared scoring of cost, graduate earnings, completion and online experience. The methodology page explains each measure and where the data comes from.

Residency Changes the Price More Than Anything Else
St. Petersburg College lists $111.75 per credit for Florida residents in lower division courses and $386.90 for out-of-state students. Upper division courses cost $122.70 for residents and $425.79 for everyone else. For a resident, the college estimates $10,148 for the associate degree and $9,777.06 for the bachelor's.
An out-of-state student pays more than three times the resident rate at both levels. If you are moving to Florida soon, ask the college how it decides residency before you enroll, because that answer can change the bill by thousands of dollars.
The private schools skip this question. Saint Leo, Rasmussen, Florida Tech and Embry-Riddle each quote one rate for all online students, so a Florida address brings no discount there.
Stacking an Associate, a Bachelor's and a Master's in One State
A Florida student can build all three levels without leaving the state. The least expensive route for a resident starts with St. Petersburg College's A.S. and continues into its B.A.S.. The college notes that A.S. holders may need 15 to 21 additional general education credits, and the B.A.S. carries a 36-credit general education requirement.
Rasmussen takes a different approach. Its bachelor's is a completer program, open to anyone with a conferred associate's or bachelor's degree or at least 60 quarter credits of college work, each with a C- or higher. It also lets you pay $149 for a self-directed assessment to show you already have a course's skills.
Saint Leo lets you stay with one school from the 60-credit associate degree through the 30-credit master's.
Comparing Tuition When Credits Mean Different Things
Credit counts hide real differences. Rasmussen's 90 credits are quarter credits, and the school's semester-equivalent rate is $498, not $332. Its $29,880 tuition and $5,875 in fees come to $35,755. Saint Leo's 120-credit bachelor's at $425 comes to $51,000 before its $45 technology fee on each online course, and you can opt out of its $30 per credit materials program.
At the master's level, Florida Tech charges $2,211.69 per course, which makes $24,328.59 for 33 credits with technology fees included. Saint Leo charges $785 per credit, or $23,550 for 30 credits, and $670 for eligible service members and spouses. Embry-Riddle charges $902, or $27,060 for 30 credits, and $755 for military students.
Matching a Degree to Florida Employers and Certifications
Florida's programs differ in who they connect you to. St. Petersburg College lists local employers KnowBe4, Raymond James, Honeywell and Citigroup for its bachelor's, and its associate degree lets students sit for Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker and Cisco CCNA CyberOps. Both degrees hold National Security Agency validation, through 2029 for the A.S. and 2031 for the B.A.S.
Saint Leo's bachelor's reports interns placed with Verizon, Tech Data Corporation and the Pasco County Sheriff's Department. Rasmussen's coursework points toward SSCP, CCNP and CISA, and Keiser's master's is built toward the CISSP.
At the master's level, Embry-Riddle covers operational technology risks, uncrewed systems and space applications. Florida Tech asks for a 3.0 undergraduate GPA and no GRE or GMAT.
